Jetlife THC Soda Review
We’re back again with yet another THC beverage review. Another flourishing developing market, I’ve been trying more and more of these drinks the past few weeks and I have to say, I’m impressed at how the industry has developed. We used to say things like “This probably doesn’t work” and “Definitely a scam” when we saw supposed marijuana beverages at our stores and marketplaces. Now, don’t be so sure. Because if I’ve learned anything the past few weeks, it’s that these drinks are legit and can pack a punch. Especially this one.
Jetlife THC Soda is the product of a marriage between rapper Curren$y and his Jetlife brand and Crescent Canna, of Crescent 9 fame. The flavor is Grape Lemonade and it does taste like that, though there’s a strong, strong whiff of pot in there. That’s because each can of these comes with a whopping 50mg of THC. For reference, Howdy THC Sweet Tea, which we covered, has 5mg per can. The main Crescent 9 brands have 10 mg. At 50mg, the Jetlife THC Soda is well above and beyond a lot of it’s competitors when it comes to dosage.
It’s a good product though and does the job while being pretty palatable. Yes, the smell is stronger but it’s got 10x the THC of most of these drinks so I give it a pass for that. It looks cool and has a balanced aesthetic. It’s official looking enough for me to drink it, but sketchy looking enough for me to believe it does what it does. Black can, Grape-Lemonade flavor, Miami pink logos? Yeah this is selling “weed drink.” But how does it stack up?
Time for grades.
PRICE: 10/10- 4 for $16, 50mg per can
This is pretty straightforward. It’s the same price as both the Crescent 9 and the Howdy Sweet Tea more or less, but it includes so much more THC per can. You’re getting, at minimum, 200mg of THC, compared to like 20 or 40. It’s a great deal from that perspective. You get so much more bang for your buck. 12 servings a can folks. You can actually put one of these in a bottle and drink from it all day and be high the whole time. Excellent value.
FLAVOR: 8/10
The flavor is not bad, in fact it tastes what it’s supposed to taste like, only it has this overbearing weed flavor. It doesn’t ruin the drink, in fact, once you’re used to it, it’s fine, but it takes some getting used to. It gives the drink an herbal character that kind of reminds me of root beer when you can really taste that “root” or whatever that is. There still is a strong undercurrent of the proper flavor, but the heavy weed taste is undoubtedly present.
HIGH: 8/10
This isn’t my favorite high from a THC drink. For one, it’s too easy to drink too much and end up with a zombie high or whatever it was when I was scared of the window the other night. You have to be careful with this drink. 12 servings per can is not a recommendation. You really want like 4 of those to be feeling good but 12 will knock you out or make it a little unpleasant to be awake. The high is strong and this drink works really well, but it’s super unwieldy. Make sure you have a plan before you really dive into one of thses.
BRANDING/AESTHETIC: 9/10
It’s not God’s gift to branding or anything but this is a cleverly designed drink. It speaks to people like me who can discern the layers in the word “sketchy.” This drink looks like a technically legal, illicit fun time, which is exactly what it is. It’s got that sleazy 4-Loko vibe where you just know this particular can will do it’s job, even if it does it in ways you aren’t fully asking for.
OVERALL SCORE: 9/10
It gets you high, the taste is pretty good, the branding works and the value is excellent. But a distinct weed taste and smell keep this beverage from getting a perfect score. I would argue it’s functionally pretty perfect if your sole goal is getting high but as a drink to be tasted, it’s flavor profile is not without flaw. That being said, you can count on this Jetlife THC Soda to deliver a consistent flavor and high, and it does so at a winning price point. I don’t think there’s better dollar-THC ration in a THC drink on the market. I would recommend this drink with some caveats that you know what you’re doing and be gentle with the dosage. Half of one of these is more than enough. Have fun and be safe.
